Early Stars Defined
I update this site when you all bug me about it, bascially. Well, I got a couple of emails from readers calling me on inaccuracies in the pre-1920 page. Took a little while to parse all the info I had collected over the years, but in the end I split it into two sections.
Now we have the Pre-1920 page covering the Mannlicher derived pistols Star actually designed and built up thru the early 20s (after that, they switched to the Colt-Browning inspired designs) and another page for the Izarra pistols, which were simply contract work Ruby pistols, which were of course clones of the Browning 1903.
Aside from defining the differences, I have a lot of photos, diagrams of the Mannlicher pistol operating system, some data on other Ruby contractors (I get a lot of questions about these) and, well really that's about it. I also have exposed my lack of info on a number of the early pistols. So if you have a super-early star, check the pre-1920 page and if I have no photo, tell me all about it and send a photo or scan if you can.

Welcome, Model F-Olympic
One of our readers sent a really nice scan of his F Olympic pistol, and I have posted them on the Model F Series page. The high resolution, and having both sides at once, let me figure out certain elusive details of the F series, so bits and pieces of the whole page have been changed.
In case you missed it, the F page is quite robustly complete now, with good descriptions of most models, some manuals for download, and lots of nice photos. Check it out if you have an F series pistol.

Llama closes again
Fabinor, the remnant of Llama that went out of business around the same time as Star, CETME and Astra has closed its doors yet again. Their mid-June closure sounds permanent, but I have very little info on it as yet.

Your home on the web for all Star Bonifacio Echeverria news & information
You may have noticed, if you are a frequent visitor, that the site is no longer stuffed in a folder under my home site, but has now got its own domain. Part of this is that I will be adding features. I have already upgraded parts of the site, and now the home page will be a blog of sorts.
The new features section from the old site was getting awfully long, and still didn't have enough information in there. Now, any time I add something, learn about new news or whatever, I'll rant on about it here for a while.
I think you will all be able to comment as well. If not, I'll work on it eventually, and you are all free to send me email. Remember, you provide the info for this site, so please tell me when I'm wrong or you have something else to share.
